Hi there! My name is Apshana. I’m 22 years old and a senior in college studying Interior Architecture. I’m the founder and maker behind APKALA — a brand created from the love for craft, design, and meaningful details.

The idea for APKALA came to me during the summer of 2024. I’ve always been drawn to creating things with my hands, so starting this brand was a natural extension of that creativity. Whether it’s through design, scent, or small details, I love shaping an atmosphere that feels intentional and grounding. Every part of the process, from pouring the candles to designing the labels, building the website, and curating the socials, has become a fulfilling outlet for me. 

Each APKALA candle is made with care, using paraffin-free, beeswax-free soy wax for a clean, smooth burn. The scents are chosen with the hope that they bring a sense of calm and comfort; whether you’re studying, meditating, unwinding after a long day, or just want to add a little peace to your space. The amber glass jars with metal lids have a simple, timeless look and can be reused or recycled. The labels are inspired by the culture I grew up around, where lighting diyo is often part of daily rituals, prayers, and moments of reflection. 

These candles aren’t about being perfect — just about creating small moments of stillness and warmth wherever they’re lit.
